What is the difference between phones and laptops?

Im really confused on some people use this.why term difference words.

Notebooks and laptops are portable computers but there is a slight difference between laptops and laptops. Laptop: A laptop small enough to use on knees. Notebook: A light, portable computer that is generally more thinner than a laptop.
