Thinking Of Getting A Netbook Computer? Read This First

Pros:

Small size – Netbook’s or mini notebook computers are small usually have 10-inch screens and weigh under 4lbs. and are easy to carry around. If you’re a student or someone who like to go to coffee shops and book stores you’ll find the portability benefits you.

Battery life – The average battery life for a netbook is around 8-hours with this and the portability taking one of these mini notebooks around with you isn’t that bad of an idea.

Price - Most but not all netbook’s are under the $400 price point and the ones that are over that point are overpriced.

Cons:

Limited processing power – Netbook’s or mini notebook computers don’t have the same level of processing power as a full-sized notebook. The processors they use don’t allow for much multi-tasking.

Limited amount of memory – Most netbook’s only come with 1GB of memory which is just enough to run the computer but not enough to have multiple programs running at once. Some netbook’s comes with 2GB but those ones are rare to come by at a price under $500.

No Optical drive(on most) – If you like to play CDs or DVDs you’ll be disappointed to know that if you want that function you’ll have to buy an external CD/DVD drive for extra money. This is one thing that never made sense about netbook’s considering most programs come in CD/DVD format.

Limited Operating System Choice – On netbook’s you soon come to find that the only operating system that a netbook can run smoothly is Windows XP. Some have the option of Windows 7 Starter but it’s not nearly as good as the full version of Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional and is nowhere new Windows 7 Ultimate.
