laptop for college kid on a budget?
What is a good laptop for a college kid on a budget? I would like to spend less than $600. I have seen the Acer notebooks on sale for around $400 and was wondering some opinions on this brand or suggestions on other affordable laptops. All I am going to need is a place for papers, music, and pictures. Thanks in advance!

Plenty of space and power for browsing, media, and of course writing papers. Speaking of which instead of getting Microsoft Office which can be expensive, give Open Office a try (http://www.openoffice.org/). Its free!
