What’s up with my friend?
Hi. My friend and I know each other for 12 years. We are women in our 30s, living quite far from one another which has been the case all of the time. So we email a lot and occassionally write letters to catch up with what’s going on in each others lives and to keep the friendship going.
I had read about this idea to write a long letter in a notebook form and send this to your friend. So I bought a slim notebook, wrote her a letter in it, and sent it off with her Christmas present. When she emailed me after Christmas she only thanked me for the present but didn’t mention the letter. When I asked about it casually she told she had been so busy and listed me a few reasons why she didn’t have time to start reading it yet. (some of them pretty lame)
She hasn’t mentioned my letter since, or anything I wrote her. Why is that? I thought she’d be happy to receive it – as I’d been, to receive a long letter. As for the content, it was a regular, usual letter. What’s up with her?
