Apple has unveiled iPad – Take A Look At Apple's new gadget
If you follow Apple, or new technologies in general, you know Steve Jobs unveiled the IPAD this week in San Francisco.
His goal / dream for the IPAD is that it will bridge the gap between smartphones and laptops. But do not fill this gap iPad? Not really. But we will return in a moment. IPAD at first glance looks like a larger scale version of the iPhone. And in some ways it is. First let's take a look at the size.

IPAD is a half-inch thick, which explains why many people began to talk like islation. The IPS screen is 9.7 inches rather respectable. In comparison, the iPhone has a 3.5 inch screen. Features the whole weighs 1.5 pounds.
According to Steve Jobs, IPAD has an autonomy of 10 hours and can remain on standby for a month.
hardware specifications are also very decent. The processor is a 1GHz Apple A4, which should provide more speed than that. Currently, IPAD is not capable of multitasking. What does this mean? Well, if you read this, you probably have your browser open. If you check your Inbox, your mail client may be open. Then there are all the other programs you normally use on your computer. With the IPAD you can only use one application at a time. Disappointing, is not it?
I do not see this as a limitation equipment. Either the operating system can not handle requests, or will not. In both cases it is something that Apple have to fix in a version future.
As with most other hardware, Apple IPAD come in many different flavors, they range from 16 GB to 64 GB versions, with increasing prices for everyone. The 16GB version costs $ 499, with the 32GB version at $ 599 the jump. If you want the 64GB version with large storage space, you will be willing to spend $ 699.
The iPad is connected via WiFi 802.11n, although some versions come with 3G. The data plans for the device Starting at $ 14.99 per month for 250 MB of transfer, while the unlimited plan costs double, $ 29.99, and you get free access to AT & T hotspots. Unlike the iPhone, there are no contacts that you locked in. Instead, it operates as pre-paid, which is activated directly by the device.
Some other features of IPAD is comes with an accelerometer, compass, microphone, speaker, and a 30-pin connect. If you think you'll get a camera too, think again. The IPAD does not come with a camera. Enough disappointing, since one with the camera would make sense.
That pretty much sums up the features list. Does it look like something you will need to have?
For me, there are several problems with the IPAD in its current state.
First, it does not multitasking, which is a fundamental element of a computer. If not changed, there is nothing but a iPhone glorified with a name plate. This is the biggest problem for me with the camera. Maybe it will not bother most users, but for all those who want to do more than surf the Internet, read e-mail, and listen to music (not simultaneously) is not a viable solution.
Secondly, the lack of a camera. Apple's solution for this huge two adapters that could / should have been integrated the device first. None of them actually gives the device a "real" camera feature, instead they are only how to import pictures. Here's what Apple has to say about them:
The camera connector kit gives you two ways to import photos and videos from a digital camera. The camera connector allows you to import your photos and videos using a iPad USB cable from the device. Or you can use the SD card reader to import photos and videos directly to the SD card from the camera.
My verdict, if you want something bigger than your iPhone, and not care about surfing the Internet, read e-mail, and other simple functions so that could be for you. I think Apple is trying to capitalize on the trendiness of their products rather than narrow the gap between current smartphones and computers phones. If the iPad is their solution, we still have a long way to go.
