Are Toshiba laptops ideal for college students?

I’m laptop shopping and I have a budget. I saw a Toshiba laptop for sale at Office Max for $400. It has a 15.6” screen and a 250GB hard drive and a 3GB memory. Good for a college student?

I have had a Toshiba computer and i honestly would not reccomend it. Mine always over heated and shut down while i was just browsing the web. Also, the battery doesn’t last very long. It would freeze up a lot also, and eventually the gears inside it started grinding only after about a year of using it, and i never dropped it! I wouldn’t reccomend getting it.
