I had this computer for several months. I wanted more power than a netbook but the low low weight. A computer that fits perfectly.
I had a problem with one of the keys to attack but Toshiba is easy to work with this fix. I had to send in but my Toshiba brings a special box and prepaid label supplies. He said the time we turn around 70-10 days. I posted the same day and was back in the hands of day 7 Thumbs Up!

Skype connections should run under XP have Web can work. But do not tell you know. It means a lot of Googling. Knight is that it must run XP mode but it is so difficult to understand why it worked initially.

Key Fetures – Misleading
Toshiba Satellite T115D-S1120 in Key features on the description on Amazon’s site says “Key Features 1.5 GHz dual-core AMD Turion Neo X2 L325 mobile processor” but it is not it is a single core ?? Not a dual core, I noticed this in the thread of reviews later after the fact, but the site is not updated so be careful when placeing your order, it has a drop down for the Neo X2 and the extra hard drive space.
I am still awaiting for the computer itself, so I will keep you posted on the battery longevity and the speed of the single core, I did not notice the drop down menu. I just was reading the descrption and it says the same thing for both computers in the desrption. Is there a return policy for misleading ads since it may not be defective, the should accept a return if a customer is not satisfied, who knows it maybe nice, but still I want everyone to be aware, lesson learned here too, someone mentione it in the reviews, so I should read the reviews vs. the description and not assume the desciption is accurate. Please advise.

Small but gets the job done
Originally I was looking for a book reader that would handle PDFs. Nothing was available. I reviewed quite a few netbooks, but really wanted a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 along with USB connections. This little computer delivered everything that I initially wanted plus more. Processor is ranked higher than other Netbooks and there is more than enough storage. Key board is a little tight on the shift key, but if you are a little careful you can really get going. The 11 inch screen is a plus. This little netbook is very portable with its low weight, even with the 9 cell battery that I added. I also added the extra memory and it works with all my applications, just great. The original battery does okay, but I really only got about 4 hours of hard use, not enough to go business mobile for a day. So much for just looking for a reader, for now I am using it for business issues. So far, really love it.

Nice little unit
I purchased this little notebook in March – unseen, based on reviews, and have been very pleased. We travel a lot and its high performance, good battery/low power usage, light weight and Premium Windows 7 features are just what I wanted. I also purchased a DC air/car power adapter to make it truly a world traveller. It does heat up as others have noted so I also picked up a passive cooling pad – it works fine.

I have had the Toshiba T115D-S120 for a month already and I am very satisfied with it. First of all, if you buy a laptop like this is probably because you are looking something small and compact like a notebook, with a decent battery life but without having to sacrifice in capabilities. In this laptop you will get exactly that. I installed 2GB of extra RAM in the empty spot(to get 4 GB total) and it runs smoothly and fast. BTW anybody can do this, is extremely easy, just make sure you get the right memory (it’s in the specifications in Toshiba). About the aesthetic: It’s very light but it has an extra inch in size compare with most notebooks (not a big deal really). If you are worry for the battery life I would recommends to use the eco mode that saves a lot of power. If you use it, you would notice that the screen is not very bright (uses about 25% of brightness) but it’s perfect if you are working in a enough illuminated place. I can get up to 4 hours with the balanced option and up to 6 with the eco mode surfing the internet, watching videos and downloading stuff. If you are just using typing in word you will get more. It is true that it is a fingerprints magnet but come on it looks great and if you are careful enough you don’t need to clean it very often. The mouse is really good and all its extra features like zooming in and out and fast scrolling (similar to ipods) work fine. The keyboard is not glossy as the cover surface so don’t worry about that. You get use to the keyboard very fast, since it’s not as small as the notebooks ones.
About the processor. I think Toshiba did a really good job with these little machines. It’s fast, as much as my very expensive 14 inch core duo hp laptop, so for this price (I bought it for 430$) you are getting a nice mini-laptop that you won’t regret to carry anywhere and that gives you high performance. I am an engineer and I even test it using Matlab and running heavy programs and it has still a good performance. As I said, I just did it as a test since I use this laptop for entertaining purposes. The fan is not noisy as other laptops and the computer does not get very hot. I was surprise by this fact since some people comment about it in previous reviews. I can used in my lap and it feels okay.
Another thing I like about this laptop is the screen. This LED display is just beautiful. The colors and the resolution is astonishing.
Okay so far so good. Now, this is a great laptop but it is not perfect! The speakers are really bad, and I want to emphasize this, “really bad”. The volume is extremely low. If you connect earphones or even other speakers to the laptop it sounds great and you can use a 50-70% of volume but if you use the build-in-speaker sometimes you won’t hear very well music and videos even with a 100% volume. I don’t know what happens with this but Toshiba should fix it for future models. It depends on the video or music but in general for most of the things that one listen these speakers are not good enough. Usually I use earphones so for me is not a problem but it’s something to consider.

To summarize, this is a great laptop with a lost of capabilities, excellent for entertainment, travel, work, etc. If you don’t mind the speakers It’s a great deal.

A good compromise between size and power
This is a really nice machine; it strikes a good balance between being compact and powerful.
It’s not the most powerful thing out there, but it does have a dual-core 64 bit processor; nothing to sneeze at. I was able to run basic Photoshop tasks without a blink, and [...] worked just fine, under Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux. When I pushed it a bit more, doing some graphics programming, it did start to choke a little, but then again I was running a 32 bit Linux. So, although I didn’t test, I imagine it could run 3d games, but probably with any effects turned off.
So, it’s powerful enough to do actual work. I think it’s main selling points are the full-size keyboard and the desktop-class resolution monitor. This machine does not feel cramped, but it’s still very light and small. I like the HDMI and VGA outputs and three USB slots… this would be the perfect computer to surf the web on the couch one day and do an office presentation on the next. Oh, and the SD card slot is an eye-opener… I’ll never buy a computer without one again.
My only beef is the trackpad is a bit miniature, and maybe a little overly sensitive. The buttons basically make you use two hands. I would give this computer 4.5 stars if I could for this reason. Anyways, I usually use a mouse, which makes this problem go away.
Build quality seems good… the machine is rigid, and feels like it can take abuse. Finger prints do show up like crazy on the glossy black surface, though, so be warned.

Perfect Size
Once I adjusted to the new Winblows 7 I love this laptop. Perfect size – as small as you can go and still have a full size keyboard for EZ writing. Good feel – I like it. I chose this unit for the ATI graphics and HDMI output. It is plug and play to my large screen living room TV and works a treat. Took it on a ten hour Paris flight and enjoyed watching HD material in stunning detail that blows the socks off the usual crappy business class monitors in most planes. I got a noticeable bump in performance going to 4MB on the RAM. Battery time is more than sufficient for a days use. The track pad drivers are crap compared to the ones in the larger Satellites. Hoping for a fix down the road but its usable and I paired it up with a Microslob Arc mouse that is EZ to pack and very comfortable to use. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Great machine
Fast, easy to set up. Not too much crapware. Keyboard is good size and screen is very clear. Battery is amazing. 7 hours + is definitely possible if you’re careful. Most average use is more like 4.5 which is still impressive. Super light to travel with. Charger brick is fairly small.
Only downside I can tell is the glossy finish which picks up fingerprints way too easily.
All in all a great buy.
